Tours to theatre in Moscow

Moscow is rightly considered one of Theatre's world capitals, even though the city's theatrical heritage dates back only to the middle of the 18th century, to the founding of The Comedy House in the Preobrazhensky Village, and the Palace of Entertainments in the Kremlin, which used the fortress's peasantry as actors. The theatrical world of the city has grown quickly and now, only 250 years later, there are around 70 theatres and a number of concert halls in the Russian capital.

Bolshoi Theatre (Historic Stage and Small Stage)
The most famous theatre in Russia has a glorious interior and excellent acoustics, and is home to one of the most important ballet and opera companies in the world.

State Kremlin Palace
The palace is interesting above all for its grandiose (or monstrous) architecture and interiors, as well as for productions by the Bolshoi company and prestigious, if expensive, concerts.

Moscow New Opera Theatre
This theatre's operatic productions are noted for their combination of bold innovation and respect for the classics.

Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theatre
This theatre is one of the most iconic theatres of the capital and may be considered the second important music theatre after the Bolshoi.

Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center
This young theatre, founded and run by the great Soviet soprano, boasts a stylish modern interior, excellent acoustics and high quality performances in which veteran singers appear alongside students of the center's elite vocal school.

If France is an origin of the ballet, and opera was born in Italy, then the Moscow opera and ballet inherited the best of it. Representatives of the Moscow opera and ballet remain one of the most well known throughout the XIX and XX centuries.
There are more than fifty drama theaters in the metropolis, that gives a person who appreciate a dramatic art.
For younger visitors, Moscow has some unique theatrical treats - puppet theaters, animal theaters and the Children's Musical Theatre.
