Central Siberian Geological Museum

The museum of geology is another exciting museum, which attracts hundreds of tourists from Russia and many different countries.  If you are planning a visit to Academgorodok, be sure not to forget about this museum, it will make your impressions of our research center complete.

The museum was founded in 1958. The collection includes numerous and various miderals and ores found in Siberia, such as diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones, including the rarest stone charoit. the collection of gold is also impressing. There is also a collection of artificial stones produced in  the museum.

The guides in the museum are geologists working in the institute, many of them speak foreign languages, so the tour will be perfectly understandable and interesting. A visit should be booked in advance. The museum has a small shop where you can buy earrings, rings, necklaces and other things at very reasonable prices.
