Maxim Fedotov (Violin soloist)
Maxim FEDOTOV - soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society, professor of the Moscow State Conservatoire (since 1987), laureate of a number major International Violinists Competitions.
M.Fedotov was born in the family of the prominent conductor of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre M-tro V.Fedotov. Got his music education at the St.Petersburg Special Music School and at the Moscow Conservatoire. His tutors were B.Sergeev, D.Tsyganov and I.Bezrodny. Performs almost the all main violin repertoire. Including 30 symphony concertos, solo cycles (24 Caprices by Paganini were performed in the major halls and recorded for CDs by "DML - Classics"). Leads wide concert activity in Russia, tours of USA, Japan, Korea, Australia, Mexico, countries of West Europe, Scandinavian countries, Asia.
Gave concert appearances in the Barbican Hall (London), Symphony Hall (Birmingham), "Finlandia" Hall in Helsinki, Konzerthaus (Berlin), Gewandhaus (Liepzig), Gastieg (Munich), "Alte Oper" (Franfurt-auf-Mein), Auditorium (Madrid), Megaro (Athens), "Musikverein" (Vienna), Suntory Hall (Tokyo), Symphony Hall (Osaka), Mozarteum (Salzburg), Veroli Concert Hall (Milan), in the halls of the Keln Philharmony, Vienna Opera, the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres of Russia and others. He performs regularly at the St.Petersburg Philharmony Big Hall. For the last 10 years played more than 50 concerts (recitals, symphonic evenings) at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatoire. Performs with all major Russian and foreign orchestras and conductors.
He performs with the pianist Galina Petrova all solo recitals and chamber concerts. Took part in many prestigious International Festivals. Recorded CDs with the "Melodia", "Art & Electronics", "Disctronic", "Gold Club" "DML - Classics", etc.
Is a jury-member of International Vilinists Competitions, President of the Association of Tchaikovsky Competition Stars. In 2000 he was elected as Academician of the Petrov Science and Art Academy (St.Petersburg). Leads master classes in Germany, Spain, Japan, Croatia, Australia.
The ensemble of the two musicians, soloists of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society, - violinist Maxim Fedotov and pianist Galina Petrova - was founded in 1992. The unity of their artistic positions, music views, performing professionalism, emotional and intellectual potential and artistic style is proved by hundreds of concerts of the duet (Russia, USA, Japan, Australia, European countries, etc.) and a number of CDs. "Brilliant Russian virtuosos" ("Nice Matin", France), "musicians of a tiger‘s temperament", "the most popular Moscow duet" ("Nezavisimaya gazeta"), M.Fedotov and G.Petrova perform all the main repertory for violin and piano (Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, etc.), and also play an exclusive repertoire, performing whole programs of transcriptions of symphony and West European and Russian opera - ballet classics specially transcribed for them by composer Aida Isakova. The musicians not only broaden the repertory, but also have made a big step in the development of this genre.
