Pavel Milyukov (violin)

Graduated from the Moscow Conservatory studying under Prof. Vladimir Ivanov (2004–2009) and continued advanced studies under him. During 2013 studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz under Prof. Boris Kuschnir. At present he is taking instruction from Lidia Baich at the Vienna Conservatory. He has won prizes in international competitions, among them the 5th Niccolo Paganini International Violin Competition in Moscow (2007, second prize), the competition in Astana (2008, grand prix), in Seoul (2012, second prize), and the 8th Aram Khachaturian Competition in Yerevan (2012, first prize). In 2011 he participated in the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition. He performs in cities throughout Russia, Austria, Belgium, China, and Korea among other countries. Since 2008 he has been as soloist at the Saint Petersburg House of Music, and since 2012 soloist for the Moscow Philharmonic. He plays the “ex-Szigeti” instrument made by Pietro Guarneri and provided by the Neva Foundation. 

Alexander was born in 1988 in Vladivostok, Russia. He studied in the Chopin's music school until 2003, entered the Chopin's college, that finished in 2007 in the class of Prof. M. Zhuravleva. At present, Alexander is a student at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory in the class of Prof. N. Shakhovskaya. Alexander performs in many concerts in the best halls of Russia, such as the Rachmaninoff hall, the Small and the Great halls of the State Conservatory. He also performed in other cities of Russia as well as abroad. Alexander is the winner of several international and national competitions, he also took part in the Tchaikovsky competition 2007.

In 2010 took part in festivals and masterclasses "Courchevel Academy" and "Holland Music Sessions" with famous professors Philippe Muller, Maria Kliegel, Reinhard Latzko and Uzi Wiezel. Also he had masterclasses with David Geringas and Sergey Roldugin.

Laureate of international competitions, soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic, pianist Philip Kopatchevsky won the love and recognition of the public. His concerts take place in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain, Montenegro, Estonia, Lithuania and many cities of Russia. Philip gained special popularity in Japan, where he ordered a disc of Chopin's works commissioned by NHK.
Philip Kopachevsky was born in 1990 in Moscow. He graduated from the Central Music School, the Moscow Conservatory and postgraduate studies (class of Professor Sergei Dorensky). Laureate of eight international competitions, including the X Schubert Piano Competition (Germany) and the Piano Competition in Enschede (The Netherlands). He performs with the Svetlanov State Russian Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, the Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra The Moscow Theater "New Opera", the English Chamber Orchestra, the orchestras Sinfonia Varsovia, Filarmonica de Toscanini, Milance the Verdi Symphony Orchestra, the Ile-de-France National Orchestra and others.
Participated in many international festivals, including the Piano Festival in Miami, the Arts Naples World Festival (USA), the international festival of the Steinway Company (USA), Annecy and Colmar (France), the memory of Rostropovich (Baku), The Baltic Seasons Kaliningrad), Vladimir Spivakov invites, Stars at Baikal, Crescendo, Denis Matsuev invites, named after AD Sakharov (Nizhny Novgorod), in memory of V. Lothar-Shevchenko (Novosibirsk). Participated in the world premiere of the ballet Without choreographer Benjamin Milpieu at the Mariinsky Theater. Among the partners of Kopachevsky in the chamber ensemble are David Geringas, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Julian Rachlin, Pavel Nersesyan, Alexander Gindin, Andrei Baranov, Alexander Buzlov, Nikita Borisoglebsky, Pavel Milyukov, Alexander Ramm, Narek Akhnazaryan, Valery Sokolov, Boris Andrianov and others.
He collaborated with famous conductors, including Mstislav Rostropovich, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Yury Bashmet, Alexander Dmitriev, Stanislav Kochanovsky, Conrad van Alphen, Charles Olivieri-Monroe, Evgeny Bushkov, Maxim Vengerov, Paul Watkins. At the Concert Hall Rachmaninov "Philharmonic-2" played in one evening all piano concertos by Tchaikovsky, accompanied by Russian State Orchestra named after Svetlanov (conductor - Stanislaw Kochanowski). In the season 2016/2017 gave a solo concert in the Great Hall of the Conservatory. He released two albums of compositions by Romantic composers, he is working on recording works by Brahms. Member of the project "Stars of the XXI Century" of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, one of the most sought-after soloists.

Alexander Sladkovsky is the founder and Artistic Director of many different festivals in Kazan, such as the Rachmaninoff festival “White Lilac”, open air opera festival “Kazan Autumn”, “Denis Matsuev Meets Friends”, and Gubaidulina Festival “Concordia”.

In May 2001, Alexander Sladkovsky conducted a concert at the Hermitage Theatre in honour of Her Royal Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. He also led concerts in honour of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, and the Presidents of the United States Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, wherein a concert was held during the festivities for St. Petersburg’s 300th Anniversary with President George W. Bush in attendance.

His recent highlights in the 2015-16 season were collaborations with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Sinfonia Varsovia, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia “Svetlanov Orchestra”, and Russian National Orchestra, among others.

In October 2013 Sladkovsky was invited by Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia to conduct works by Rachmaninoff during the anniversary concerts dedicated to the composer. In the same season he was re-invited to conduct several concerts with a Tchaikovsky programme. Previous collaborations have included Bolshoi Theatre, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia “Svetlanov Orchestra”, Russian National Orchestra, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Russian Radio, National Philharmonic of Russia, Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Orchestra of Theatro Municipal De São Paulo, orchestras of the Moscow, Novosibirsk and Belgrade Philharmonic, Orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera, Sinfonia Varsovia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, and Concerto Budapest Orchestra.

Orchestras under Alexander Sladkovsky took part in various important national and international projects and festivals, such as the International Yuri Temirkanov “Arts Square” Festival, “Rodion Shchedrin. A Self-Portrait” Festival (held in 2002 for the 70th anniversary of the composer), the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin, the Days of St. Petersburg Culture in Almaty with the stars of the Mariinsky Theatre,the Crescendo Festival in St. Petersburg, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Kunstfest-Weimar, the Budapest Spring Festival, and the XI Wörthersee Classics Festival in Klagenfurt.

Alexander Sladkovsky collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet, Mikhail Pletnev, Boris Berezovsky, Barry Douglas, Nikolay Lugansky, Vadim Repin, Leonidas Kavakos, Julian Rachlin, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, David Geringas, Mario Brunello, Antonio Meneses, Montserrat Caballé, Hibla Gerzmava, Simone Kermes, Albina Shagimuratova, Sumi Jo, Placido Domingo, Roberto Alagna, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Sergei Nakaryakov, and Michael Volle, among others.

His concert programmes cover an extensive repertoire of such contemporary composers as R. Shchedrin, G. Kancheli, and S. Gubaidulina. On various occasions, Sladkovsky performed music by Alexander Tchaikovsky. In March 2003 he conducted the world premiere of Alexander Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3 at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Moreover, he enthusiastically focuses on commissioning and premiering pieces by several young Russian composers.

In 1999 Sladkovsky won the top prize at the III. International Prokofiev Competition. In 2003, he was a nominee for Russia’s Golden Soffit Award as Best Conductor of the Year, and in 2005, he became Honored Artist of Russia by the President’s decree. As of 2013, he is an ambassador for the Kazan University. In 2011, Alexander Sladkovsky was named Conductor of the Year in Russia by Musical Review Magazine and won the Philanthropist of the Year contest. He is a member of the Council of State Cultural Policy under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Sladkovsky also received the Oleg Yankovsky “Creative Discovery 2011-12” Award. He was titled Doctor Honoris Causa by the UNESCO Chair of the University of Management TISBI (Kazan, Tatarstan) and selected as one of the «Top-35. The most famous people of Kazan».

Alexander Sladkovsky graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1988 and later from the St. Petersburg Conservatory in 2001. He made his conducting debut with Mozart’s Così fan tutte in 1997, a production of the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In the same year he was invited to conduct the St. Petersburg State Capella Symphony Orchestra. An extensive and fruitful collaboration began, first as its Principal, and later as its Chief Conductor (1997-2006). Between 2001 and 2003, he also served as Chief Conductor of the State Ballet and Opera Theatre of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and between 2001 and 2005 of the Russian National Students' Symphony Orchestra (a joint project of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the St. Petersburg Conservatory), which was composed of conservatory students from St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Saratov. In 2005 Sladkovsky was Assistant Conductor to maestro Mariss Jansons for the production of G. Bizet’s Carmen, and in 2006 to maestro Mstislav Rostropovich for The Unknown Mussorgsky programme. From 2006 to 2010 he worked extensively with the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra under the tutelage of maestro Yuri Bashmet.

In 2012 SONY MUSIC and RCA Red Seal released a three CD album entitled “The Anthology of Music” where the recordings by Alexander Sladkovsky and his recent orchestra, the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, showcased the work of composers from the Republic of Tatarstan. A subsequent CD “Enlightment” was recorded under the same music labels and was highly acclaimed by the press. It includes Tchaikovsky's Manfred and Rachmaninoff's The Isle of the Dead.

The concert "Soloist Denis Matsuev" was recorded by the Mezzo TV Channel in 2014 and broadcasted worldwide. The Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra was the first regional Orchestra filmed by this international music channel.

The Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra has achieved worldwide acclaim for their sophisticated performances and dynamic programming. The orchestra was the inspiration of Nazib Zhiganov, former Chairman of the Composers Union of Tatarstan and Dean of the Kazan Conservatory. In 1966, he received authorization and funding from the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic Council of Ministers to create a symphony orchestra in Tatarstan. The TNSO gave its first concert, featuring works by Bach, Shostakovich and Prokofiev, under its first Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Natan Rakhlin on 10th of April, 1967.

Under its current Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Alexander Sladkovsky, the TNSO has further developed its cultural and social influence through new festivals, artistic collaborations and educational and community outreach.

The orchestra regularly performs in Russian’s major cities and around the world through its extensive touring schedule. Its festivals and special events, including the Rakhlin Seasons, White Lilac, Kazan Autumn, The Creative Discovery and Denis Matsuev & Friends series, are amongst the most notable public, cultural events in Tatarstan and Russia. It is also frequently featured at the Crescendo, Stars on Baikal, The Cherry Orchard and the Hibla Germava Invites festivals.

The TNSO enjoys a long, successful history of collaborations with renowned operatic and instrumental luminaries including Galina Vishnevskaya, Irina Arkhipova, Olga Borodina, Hibla Gerzmava, Albina Shagimuratova, Simone Kermes, Plácido Domingo, Roberto Alagna, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Leonidas Kavakos, Sergei Krylov, Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, David Geringas, Boris Berezovsky, Barry Douglas and Igor Butman among others.

The orchestra’s commitment to social and charitable causes has twice earned the Philanthropist of the Year award from the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Through The Republic’s Heritage project, the TNSO supports both talented music conservatory students and local schools through a series of educational programmes and outreach. The orchestra’s Musical Healing programme is dedicated to helping severely ill and disabled children through a multi-faceted series of cultural events.
