The State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan is a Russian symphony orchestra founded in 1966 and based in Kazan, Salih Saidashev. Currently he works under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.


The vibrant Russian conductor Alexander Sladkovsky is acclaimed as an aristocrat under the new generation of Russian conductors. “His vivacious and genuine, at the same time thoughtful and deep music making, alongside the infectious energy, captures every audience.” (Belcanto.ru). Since 2010 he is the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra in the city of Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia), which transformed into one of the finest orchestras in Russia. “It became an absolute necessity to talk about the “Kazan Miracle” created by maestro Sladkovsky and the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra. It is a unique and captivatingly successful story of recreating an orchestra, delicately yet powerfully bringing it up to the peaks of great performing art.” (Musical Life Magazine)


Indisputably the world’s greatest living violist, Yury Bashmet has one simple ambition to continue producing world class performances on the concert platform and on record. His commitment to music and musicians is phenomenal, not only as a soloist either in concerto or in recital, but also as a chamber player, or conductor of one of his two orchestras, or as a teacher, either at home in Moscow, or at Siena, every summer. In 2003 Bashmet celebrates his 50th birthday.
