One-Day Private Moscow Tour from St.Petersburg with Kremlin and Armory Visit (18 hours)

This one-day tour from St.Petersburg to Russia's capital includes major highlights of Moscow, such as Red Square, the Kremlin Cathedrals and Armory. Feel the energy that has always made Moscow one of the most exciting cities on earth.

In the early morning meet the driver at the St. Petersburg cruise port terminal, who will transfer you to St.Petersburg railway station for boarding high-speed Sapsan train. After boarding, you have time to relax and watch the magnificent Russian scenery outside your coach window.

Once you reach Moscow the guide and driver will be waiting to collect you at the Moscow railway station to start the Moscow highlights tour. You will start the day with a wonderful observation point - Sparrow Hills, which gives a beautiful panoramic view of the city. You can see almost all central Moscow – The Luzhniki Stadium (where 1980 Olympics took place), the domes of Novodevichy convent, the Kremlin churches, Christ the Savior Cathedral, Stalin's high-rise buildings. Look at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the largest and oldest university in Russia. The university building is an example of famous Stalinist architecture. Admire the architecture of several of the city’s onion-domed churches, the cradle of Russian history and culture.

Then head to the most famous central Moscow point, explore the nooks and crannies of Alexander Garden. The huge fountain in the centre adds a sophisticated feel to the almost 200-year-old garden. Watch the solemn ceremony of the Changing of the guards (time permitting). Wander around the vast cobblestone square with rich past, gorgeous architecture, incredible GUM, bright colours of the Kremlin and swirling Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Walk closer to the St Basil’s Cathedral which is of great cultural value to Russians. Its marvellous exterior and fabulously decorated domes will touch your feelings.

After lunch on the ground (own expense) head inside the city’s famous red brick enclosure known as the Kremlin. You’ll go behind its walls to see historic gems like Tsar’s Bell. Tour the fortress and admire astonishing government buildings and fabulous cathedrals. Kremlin is truly a fascinating structure, at the same time it is an ancient tower, the city's former military fortification, a palace, an armoury, the sovereign treasury and the workplace of the Russian President. The Kremlin is the centre of Russia's political life and State power and has been home to Tsars, General Secretaries of the Soviet Union and Russian Presidents. Red Square is beneath the Kremlin's walls. There are five ancient cathedrals on the Kremlin grounds, the most famous of which are the Annunciation Cathedral, the Archangel's Cathedral and the Assumption Cathedral.

Then head to explore the Moscow’s oldest museum, the Kremlin Armory, world-wide known treasure-house, which originated as the royal arsenal in 1508. See the spoils of the Russian tsars, ancient Russian state regalia, ceremonial vestments, church utensils, gold and silver relics, jewellery, Imperial weapons and famous Faberge eggs. The Armory was the first museum in Moscow open to the public. This world-wide known treasure house presents ancient Russian regalia, ceremonial dress of the Tsars, church hierarchs' vestments, gold and silverware by Russian, European and Eastern masters, arms and armour, royal carriages and horse ceremonial harnesses. The museum's exhibits are unique because of the precious materials, high artistic level and particular value of the exhibits especially their historical value and value to the Russian State as a whole. The museum contains more than 10 thousand exhibits dated from the 12th to the 20th century.

Then proceed to enjoy walking around Moscow city centre. When you take a ride on the Moscow Metro, you're not just commuting, you're also going on a trip through time. Its chandeliers, marble, intricate mosaics and heroic statues create an opulent space.

Once you reach the Moscow railway station bid farewell to your guide and hop on to Sapsan train to take you back to St. Petersburg. Relax aboard the comfortable fast train on your 3-hour journey to St Petersburg. When you reach St.Petersburg the driver will pick you up at the railway station to transfer you back to the Port.
