Art factory "Semenovskaya painting" - is an acting enterprise for the production of Souvenirs and other products in the style of the Semyonov Khokhloma painting, and concurrently the most popular attraction of the city. Painting traditions are preserved both in technology and in patterns of painting. Masters make no secret of technology, and anyone can come here and see how this fire miracle is born. There are fascinating tours, during which each stage of creating a product is demonstrated. The stages include visiting workshops, carpenter's, drying and preparation room, experimental room, and compression one. It is impossible to believe that an ordinary wooden box or cup should pass all of the stages. The process of transformation of an ordinary wooden spoon into a golden one is no less interesting than the finite result. All cups, spoons, plates, cabinets, ladles, herring dishes, salt-cellars, sugar bowls, and candy boxes are incredibly attractive in appearance and it seems that they are made by special people who are pure in mind. A lot of visitors stand frozen on the spot while watching light movements of artists whose hands create these fanciful patterns. It is impossible to see the entire assortment because it contains more than 1,800 subjects. But the most extraordinary, award-winning items are displayed in the office of the assortment. Museum and tourist center «Golden Khokhloma» is the largest contemporary museum of folk artistic wooden products in Russia. A comprehensive and unique collection of items with Khokhloma painting is the pride of the center. Golden patterns which incorporated all the beauty of the Russian land delight everyone who has had a chance to get acquainted with this type of folk craft that was originated in the XVII century. In exhibition hall «Stories of Khokhloma craft» one can get acquainted with the origins of khokhloma craft that go back to the remote past. The recognition of uniqueness and widespread appreciation of the craft is reflected in exhibition «The royal room». A unique collection of 240 objects holds pride of the place. Each manufacture is crested by the coat of the arms of Russia and garnished with the elements of handicraft sculptural carving. Khokhloma throne for the future Tzar gives the hall pomp and grandiosity. For all interested workshops on painting matryoshkas are held. |
