Monument "Tsar-fish"

"Tsar fish" is an observation point situated on 300 m high Sliznevsky hill where visitors can enjoy breathtaking view on Yenisey river landscape. The monument “Tsar fish” commemorates one of the most significant storybook of a famous Russian author V.P. Astafyev who lived in Ovsyanka village located near the Sliznevsky hill.

A brilliant forged monument "Tsar-fish" was established in 2004 to the 80th anniversary of writer Viktor Astafyev and is one of the main symbols of Krasnoyarsk. He was erected in honor of the eponymous work, which laid the generalized meaning of the struggle between man and nature. "Tsar-fish" is a sturgeon, which is a symbol of taming and development of nature. In a fairy tale, a man tries to tame an animal, the fight ends dramatically - a wounded tsar-fish, without submitting to man, leaves from it in the sea, carrying in his body many hooks. Near the sculpture is a beautiful observation deck, which is very popular among tourists, who keep their way to the village Ovsyanka - the birthplace of Victor Astafiev. From here you can see a wonderful view of the village of Sliznevo.

In the composition of the monument there is a marble book, placed on a stand with a height of 80 centimeters. Tourists are impressed by the detailing of the monument, the skin of the fish is so thought out that it is possible to consider flakes and traces of hooks in it. In 2003, a partial reconstruction of the monument was carried out, nowadays it pleases many tourists who often do not delve into its hidden meaning, but simply admire the appearance.
