Every month the National Center for Contemporary Art "Arsenal" in Nizhny Novgorod pleases citizens and visitors of the city with various exhibitions and projects. National Center for Contemporary Art Arsenal is an architectural monument of the mid-19th century, one of the largest buildings of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, with an area of more than 5000 sq.m. One of the most progressive institutions among the museums of Nizhny Novgorod, Arsenal is the center of modern culture of the city.

The Center is Russia's leading contemporary art complex, supported by the Ministry of Culture of Russia. In itself, "Arsenal" is also an architectural monument, built in the middle of the XIX century. In addition, it is one of the largest buildings of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, the total area of ​​which is more than 5000 square meters. In the center is the exhibition hall, which occupies the main part of the Arsenal, about 400 square meters. There are various exhibitions of Russian and foreign art, including video art, photography, sculpture, painting, installations and much more. The hall is on the first floor of the Arsenal. There is also a Media Library, a library, a video library, a place where literary meetings and master classes take place regularly. The collection of the archive includes more than 6 thousand printed publications in all areas of contemporary Russian and foreign culture. All these materials are freely available to visitors. On the second floor there is a cinema-concert hall with a total area of ​​250 square meters. In addition to cinema, there are conferences, lectures, concerts, theatrical productions and performances. In the lobby of the second floor there is a permanent exhibition of Genius Loci, which was created on the basis of archaeological excavations in the territory of the reconstructed Arsenal building and next to it. Visitors are invited to make a virtual trip through the central square of the Kremlin in the middle of the XIX century, as well as hear a story from a resident of Nizhny Novgorod XV century Evdokia. There is also a bookshop in Arsenal, where you can buy literature on contemporary art, humanities and literature. In addition, various cultural events also take place here.
