• Prize-winner at the II Karamanov Contemporary Arts and Education international competition and festival in two categories – “vocals” (Moscow, 2006, 1st prize) and “chamber ensemble” (3rd prize)
• Prize-winner at the II International Pechkovsky Opera Singers’ Competition (St Petersburg, 1996, 3rd prize)
Marina Mareskina was born in Ulan-Ude. In 1996 she graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of I. I. Yushmanov).
In 1996 she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre as the Little Brigand in Banevich’s opera The Story of Kai and Gerda.
Since 2014 she has been a guest soloist with the Mariinsky Opera.

The singer’s repertoire also includes: Naina (Ruslan and Lyudmila), Konchakovna (Prince Igor), Polina (The Queen of Spades), Lyubyasha, Dunyasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Marta (Iolanta), Stesha, Perfilievna, Vlasievna (The Maid of Pskov), Bobylikha (The Snow Maiden), Wet-Nurse, Mistress of the Inn (Boris Godunov), Ines (Il trovatore), Khivrya (Semyon Kotko), Anna (Les Troyens), Amneris (Aida), Deaconess (Król Roger) and the Old Gypsy (Aleko) as well as the mezzo-soprano roles in Prokofiev’s cantata Alexander Nevsky, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Verdi’s Requiem.
Marina Mareskina has toured with the Mariinsky Opera to prestigious venues in Spain, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, the USA (Metropolitan Opera), Japan, Belgium, France, Israel, Finland, China, South Korea, Turkey, Portugal, Argentina and Switzerland.
The singer frequently performs chamber music programmes in St Petersburg and throughout Germany.
