SYNOPSIS

The action takes place on December 31

Part one
The hut of Stepmother. Sinister, the daughter of Stepmother, tells us what dreams she had today: if you believe in a match, the dream for the New Year will come true. The stepmother recalls another sign: on December 31, it is necessary to pierce the hut properly. She sends for the woods stepdaughter Zamarashka.Forest. Zamarashka meets the Tsar's woodcutter. He says that today it is better not to walk through the forest: all twelve months will be gathered here, and from the light of their fire one can be blinded and forever petrified.Brothers-months appear on the clearing ...Palace. The Grand Chancellor presents the Order of the New Year to the Queen. The queen is unhappy: at the ball her favorite violet violets should smell, but in the greenhouses all the flowers died from the cold. The Empress issues a decree: the one who delivers fresh violets to the palace will receive a bag of gold.The hut of Stepmother. The wicked and stepmother already dream of how they will spend the royal gold. They send Zamarashka to look for flowers in a snowy forest.Forest. Zamarashka is exhausted and falls asleep. Months decide to help her: December is giving way to the campfire April, spring comes, and the clearing is covered with violets.

Part two
The hut of Stepmother. The stepdaughter returns with a full basket of real violets. The wicked and stepmother is exulting: now they send Zamarashka into the woods for berries, and they rush with violets to the palace.Zamarashka is dozing. April comes to her and gives a magic ring - if you throw it from the little finger to the little finger, the month brothers will immediately come to the rescue.Palace. The courtiers languish: according to the decree of the Tsarina, the New Year will not come until the palace has fresh flowers. Break the Sinister and Stepmother. The queen wants to tell where they found the violets in the middle of the winter. They are checked on the lie detector, and they admit that Zamarashka brought flowers.The Stepmother's Residence. Guardsmen grab Zamarashka to take her to the Queen. Palace. The queen requires Zamarashka to tell the truth about the violets. The girl talks about the magic of twelve months. The queen does not believe her. Then Zamarashka throws a magic ring, and the brothers-months appear in the throne room. They are in a hurry: it's time to light the lights on the tree and meet the New Year!
