Victory Square "Three Swords" (Mirny)

May 9, 1975 in the town of Mirny was solemnly opened the obelisk in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Great Victory three giant swords near the eternal flame.

Three swords symbolize the armed forces on earth, in the air and at sea. When a sword (weapon) sticks into the ground, it means the end of the war, a symbol of victory. "Let the world be unshakable, and let the sword blades look into the ground forever," these words of Myrninsky poet and journalist M. Morozov speak as perfectly as possible of the ultimate goal of the struggle against fascism. They walk around the pedestal. Obelisk was created on a competitive basis. It was also designed electric lighting and radio coverage of the obelisk. In subsequent years, the city authorities and heads of the trust "Yakutalmaz" decided to expand the topic and create a memorial complex in which we would place and land from hero cities, and the Eternal Monument. Then back in the city there were quite a few veterans of the Great Patriotic War and people who lost their relatives and friends on the battlefields, and they had nowhere to bow to the memory of the fallen on May 9, to pay tribute to the liberator soldiers.

Against the backdrop of the three swords is the "People's Memorial Wall" with thematic reliefs on copper medallions: seeing off for the war, rear work for the front, guerrilla warfare, offensive and victory. In the slab in front of the swords, the land, brought by Myrnin veterans from all the hero cities, was immured.
