Monument to Andrei Dubensky

On August 30, 1997, the monument to the founder of the city, Andrei Anubrievich Dubensky, was unveiled on Pokrovskaya Gora. The bronze sculpture of the Cossack pioneer of the Krasnoyarsk lands stands over the Yenisei River at the confluence of the Kacha River and indicates where it is "high and red" for the construction of the prison.

According to the idea of the authors, the sculptor Vladimir Girich and the architect Mikhail Merkulov, the voivod of the pedestal watches vigilantly at his offspring. The monument to Dubensky was created with the money of sponsors: a lot of people, including Girich, made a feasible contribution to the erection of the monument.

Initially, the figure was plaster. In 2000, it was replaced with a bronze one, placing it on a pedestal from a syenite monolith. The total height of the monument is more than 7 m. Andrei Dubensky, who is surrounded by a fence of red brick. Between the links of the fence are white low columns, decorated with flowerpots. In 2002, the monument had a complex backlight, so that the sculpture became visible in the dark from virtually all points of the city. The backlight, designed by the technology of the English company "Thorn", includes 8 powerful searchlights. Innovation did not cost from the budget of Krasnoyarsk - the company made a free gift to the city. By the way, recently metamorphoses began to occur with the bronze figure - the "hair" of the voevoda "turn gray". The effect gave a gradual oxidation of bronze. The creator of the monument, Vladimir Girich, predicted this in advance, so he is not upset and I am sure that the white and green raid will only add a monument of historical certainty.
