Bay Ayaya

Ayaya Bay - one of the most beautiful on Lake Baikal. It has retained its natural beauty because of the distance from the regular transport, it is possible to visit only at the individual ship. The peculiarity of it is that it is the safest harbor in the north of Lake Baikal in any weather. Here you can have a great time - both on the sandy beach of the bay itself, and in the campaign of the lake Frolikha that is 8 km in the direction of the Barguzin ridge. Beautiful day to a pleasant, heated the local bathhouse on the bank of the lake. Enjoy to have a relaxing break in a picturesque bay Ayaya.

Ayaya Bay is very picturesque. Local residents say that its name came from a cry: "Ay-aya, how beautiful!". On the north-eastern coast of Baikal, this is the most amazing and picturesque place. The bay is a deeply embedded lip in the land, surrounded on all sides by steep banks. Ayaya Bay for 4 kilometers crashes into the land, and its beaches are filled with fine sand. The eastern part of the lip is low and has a wide sandy beach, beyond which there is a plain in the depths of the land. On the east coast of the bay flow two streams, the one that is north, is called Ayaya.
At the entrance to the bay there is an underwater reef. At 20 meters from the cape, it protrudes above the water in the form of a rock with a height of 1.1 meters. In clear and sunny weather, seals often rest here.
Only 8 kilometers from the Ayaya Bay there is a picturesque mountain glacier lake Frolikha - the most famous and popular place among tourists in the territory of Northern Baikal. The lake is easiest to get from Ayaya bay. In the place where Ayaya creek flows into Lake Baikal, a good trail starts, which has a length of 8 kilometers. After 2 hours of travel along it you can go to the lake Frolikha. Many tourists from all over the world come here every year. They are struck by the local amazing nature: the horseshoe-shaped lake is located in the midst of tall majestic mountains, dismembered by deep valleys and covered with coniferous forest. On the mountain peaks in early summer and late autumn lies snow. On the east coast of the lake is Mount Bear, which has a height of 1200 meters above sea level.
Lake Frolikha is located in the middle of the wild taiga far from the Baikal coast. To get to it, you need a boat from Severobaikalsk to the eastern shore of Lake Baikal, and then walk along the trail to Lake Frolikha. Based on this, there are not so many tourists here as at other popular Baikal sights.
