Gelena Gaskarova was born in St Petersburg. In 1996 she graduated from the music school in piano studies. In 2003 she graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov music college and in 2008 from the St Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatoire in solo singing. Since 2001 she has been a soloist with the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers. In 2005 she performed the role of Maria in Bernsteint`s West Side Story. In 2008 she took part in Puccinit`s Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta) and Mozartt`s Die Zauberflote (1st Dame).

Repertoire at the Mariinsky Theatre includes:

Countess Ceprano and page (Rigoletto)
Annina (La traviata)
Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly)
Suor Osmina (Suor Angelica)
