Costume Designer

A native of Italy, Agostino Cavalca has lived in Paris since 1980. Has designed the costumes for many productions of classical works, including Goethe?s Iphigenie, Moliere?s Le Misantrope, Shakespeare?s Otello and Richard III, Racine?s Fedra and Esther and Marivaux? La surprise de l?amour, in addition to many works by contemporary authors. His works in opera include Brecht and Weil?s Die Dreigroschenoper and Mahagonny and Mozart?s Die Schuldigkeit des Ersten Gebots, as well as Weber?s Euryanthe and Rossini?s Le Comte Ory at the festival in Aix-en-Provence.

Ariane et Barbe-Bleu for the Opera de Lyon, Carmen with Scottish Opera, Britten?A Midsummer Night?s Dream with Opera North, Rossini?s La cenerentola at Covent Garden, Donizetti?s Lucia di Lammermoor for the Opera de Lyon and the Theatre du Chatelet, Thomas? Hamlet, Betrothal in a Monastery, Der Rosenkavalier, Pelleas et Melisande and Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Grand Theatre de Geneve.
Productions of Don Carlos at the Grand Theatre de Geneve, La traviata in Lausanne and Cardiff and Madama Butterfly at Covent Garden are planned for the near future.
