Classic St. Petersburg and One Day in Moscow Private Shore Excursion

During this three day program you will visit 2 main Russian cities - St.Petersburg and Russian Capital - Moscow, will learn the present and past history of St Petersburg and Moscow, find out about the Romanov dynasty (facts and anecdotes), discover St, Petersburg as the cultural capital of Russia and the Soviet Union, learn more about Soviet Regime: Lenin and Stalin, see modern life in Russia: transportation, housing, educational system, health care system, family life. This is probably one of the most comprehensive tours one may take if porting in St.Petersburg for 3 days only.

We have made up a program for active travellers who would like to see the main highlights of St. Petersburg and Moscow. This tour involves a lot of walking so we would recommend it for experienced travellers who prefer to explore new places mainly on foot.

DAY 1 - St. Petersburg. City Highlights and Suburbian residences: Peterhof and Pushkin

8:30 Meeting by the ship (Please note: the start time of the tour is given approximately and will be adjusted depending on your ship arrival time).
City overview tour includes driving and photo stops in the most beautiful, historical places of St. Petersburg.
10:00 - 11:00 Driving to Peterhof
11:00 - 12:30 Guided tour of the Upper Gardens and Lower Fountain Park in Peterhof (Palace is not visited inside)
12:30 - 13:30 Lunch (optional)
13:30 - 14:30 Driving to Pushkin city
14:30 - 16:00 Inside guided tour of Catherine Palace with the Amber Room 
16:00 - 17:00 Driving back to the city
17:00 Return to the ship or optional evening program (theatre / folk show / boat trip)

DAY 2 - One-day trip to Russia's Capital - Moscow

5:30 Transfer to train station (without a guide)
6:45 Sapsan express train to Moscow (no guide on the train)
10:40 Arrival in Moscow, meet local guide and driver
11:00 - 13:00 Moscow city tour (by car)
13:00 - 14:00 Time for lunch (optional)
14:00 - 16:00 Visit to the Kremlin and three cathedrals on its territory, tour of the Armoury
16:00 - 19:00 Moscow city center tour (walking), free time. Metro tour. Transfer to railway station by metro.
19:45 Sapsan express train to St. Petersburg (no guide on the train)
23:45 Arrival in St. Petersburg, transfer to the ship

DAY 3 - St. Petersburg. Hermitage Museum, Walking city tour, Shopping

9:30 Meeting by the ship
10:30 - 12:00 Inside guided tour of the State Hermitage Museum (early admission).
In order to minimize the flow of tourists inside the museum, the Hermitage authorities reserve the right to adjust the entrance time slot. Winter Palace Staterooms. Italian High Renaissance art, Rembrandt's paintings, the collection of Dutch and Flemish masters etc.
13:00 - 14:00 - Lunch (optional)
14:15 - 15:15 - A stroll along Nevsky prospect. This is a perfect way to blend into the crowd and feel like a local. Get acquainted with the genuine Russian spirit by walking down the main city street where you will feel the vibes of the city, admire such classical architectural masterpieces as Gostiny Dvor, Singer's Building, Kazan Cathedral etc. and learn more about Russian everyday life. If time permits, there will be a shopping stop.
15:30 - 16:00 Inside guided tour of St. Isaac's Cathedral
16:30 Return to the ship

Note, please:

  • The timings in the itinerary are approximate and can be altered based on entrance time available to a particular sight
  • Due to the quick pace, this tour is not suitable for any mobility-restricted travellers including slow walkers, or guests who need to sit and rest periodically.
  • Please disembark your cruise ship as early as you can in order to meet your tour at the time agreed. Reaching any later would mean to miss out a few tour parts.
  • You must allow plenty of time to get through the security at St. Petersburg Port, sometimes the queues at security can be very long and it can take a long time to get through (up to 40 min.)

To book your tour we need a prepayment of 20% of your tour cost. Full payment is required not later than 14 days before your arrival to St. Petersburg. As soon as you are ready to confirm your booking we will need the following information from you via e-mail for each member of your group:

After this, we will issue tour tickets for each member of your group and forward them to you via e-mail. As of that moment, we consider your tour officially booked with us.
