City sightseeing, Vodka Museum and Tasting, Evening Canal Cruise in St.Petersburg (6 hours)

Is any country more defined by its national beverage than Russia? Sure, the Czechs have Pilsner and the French their red wine, but in Russia, vodka isn’t just king – it’s Tsar of the country’s drinking scene. The name itself comes from the Russian word “voda,” or “water” – if that tells you anything about how life-sustaining the spirit is. Rumour has it that locals have been quaffing the stuff since roughly the 9th century – for a time, it was even considered medicinal. Combine an evening tour of St Petersburg's Vodka Museum with a scenic cruise on the city's rivers and canals. Enjoy a visit to the small museum where you'll learn the difference between Russian and Polish vodka, how vodka is distilled and the proper way to drink it. Then have an opportunity to sample distinct vodkas paired with traditional Russian snacks. Next embark on a leisurely boat ride along St Petersburg's Neva River―as well as a trio of other waterways―taking in the illuminated city from an entirely new view.

Take advantage to see the best of St.Petersburg, taste the world's famous Russian beverage and enjoy St Petersburg's astounding views!

Starting at 3 pm, meet your private guide who will take you on a Walking city tour. Take a wander down Nevsky Prospekt, seeing its bustling shops, and learn how the main street was created at the request of Tsar Peter the Great – the city’s founder, as well as see three of the city’s magnificent Russian Orthodox cathedrals. See Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood – one of the city’s superstar sights. Pose for photos against its candy-coloured façade while hearing tales of Tsar Alexander II, a reformist assassinated on the spot where the church was later built. Compare its ostentatious design with the more refined simplicity of nearby Kazan Cathedral. Then head to the Palace Square, a gorgeous central square that boasts Imperial-era architecture. Headed up by the colourful Winter Palace, Palace Square boasts not only grandiose buildings but a rich history, too; hear tales from your guide about the October Revolution in 1917 when repressed citizens stormed the Winter Palace. Then set off on a stroll near St. Isaac’s Cathedral, a delightful golden-domed creation that was built during the days of the Romanov dynasty. Walk around and marvel at its towering marble colonnades, ceiling frescoes and walls lavishly bedecked with mosaics.

Now make your way to a unique Museum of Russian Vodka where you will not only learn the history of this so-very-Russian beverage but will also try different kinds of vodka followed by typical after-vodka snacks! At the checkout choose between:

  • Deluxe Vodka Tasting Programme: Guided tour or the Museum + Three types of vodka (each - 30 g) + Three types of traditional Russian snacks
  • VIP Vodka Tasting Programme: Guided tour or the Museum + 2 sets of 4 glasses of historical Russian vodka drink "Polugar" of different flavors (rye and wheat, garlic and pepper, caraway, honey and pepper) + 6 pancakes + Sour cream + Pike caviar

Continue your evening with a walk to the Neva river pier to enjoy a refreshing boat ride along rivers and canals. Say "goodbye" to your guide here and enjoy the scenic view of the city from the water. The boat tour covers the most popular route along the Neva River, Fontanka and Moika Rivers as well as Kryukov canal.

After the tour, continue exploring the city on your own or take a way back to the hotel.
