The history of this unusual performance . In 1991 , at the dawn of a new era of Boris Eifman set to music "Requiem" by Mozart -act ballet of the same name - a philosophical parable about the sacrament of the eternal human life.
Decades later Eifman - artist "troublesome" warehouse , located in constant search of perfect plastic forms - turned again to his work and created on its basis a full-scale performance . Significantly rethinking choreographic score earlier statement , he added, in another act ballet , composed by Anna Akhmatova 's poem "Requiem" to the music of Chamber Symphony "In memory of the victims of fascism and war" Shostakovich .
The premiere will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade - the great feast , which marks the victory of life over death and destruction elements . Artists troupe Boris Eifman Ballet will present "Requiem" in conjunction with the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" (artistic director and chief conductor - Vladimir Spivakov ) and Academic big chorus " Masters of Choral Singing ." The first new show will see the World War II veterans , advocates and residents of besieged Leningrad, who will receive an invitation to the premiere . The initiators of this socio- cultural action was the St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre of Boris Eifman , the orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi" and Alexandrinsky Theatre .
Boris Eifman : "Reading the poem " Requiem " , I always marvel at how rampant the pain that pulsates in rows Akhmatova. Again and again the images of mourning " rabid years » fills the heart . And string buried alive frozen in eternal waiting at the prison gates ...
Screaming woman , whose share fell terrible ordeals , Akhmatova 's poem echoing moans thousand unfortunate wives and mothers . This symphony of sorrow never ceases to sound in me. Sacred pain does not subside .
Truly, the world of human suffering bottomless . But in the course of life is hidden divine continuity of being , which brilliantly sung in his "Requiem" by Mozart. Listening to his work, feel the breath of eternity. Anxiety and fears disappear , you're riddled with foreboding universal mystery. Where am I? Why should I ? What am I? Appealed to his memory. That she enters the world of unprotected youth , raises test maturity , wisdom, and the impotence of old age. How much malice , slander and violence in my mind ... And how many perennial touch of happiness, love ! ..
Suffering , despair , hope - all in me , in all of us . And dirge merges with Mozart's hymn to life . "
