Jacques Offenbach, in union with librettist Jules Barbier, in his work addresses three well-known Hoffmann stories, combining them with a common plot.
 
At the heart of the plot are three completely different love stories that ended tragically for Hoffmann himself. Fantastic visions of a poet of genius looking for love in a complex and controversial world, the impossibility of finding spiritual harmony, the experiences of the main character - these are the main problems raised by the authors of the work and the directors of the performance.
 
The opera “Les Contes D`Hoffmann” is a fantastic play about the adventures of the main character, a difficult staged work, unusual musical material, a complex dramatic line.
 
Before the audience reveals a mysterious world filled with extraordinary characters. People and dolls, love and mysticism - this is an encyclopedia of mental states of the creator, the mysterious world of which is revealed step by step in the beautiful music of Offenbach and the drama of the play.
 
Diametrically opposed female images appear in different pictures of the opera - the beloveds of the main character (Olympia, Juliet, Anthony, Stella). Other heroes are also astonished - mocking, insensitive and cruel people surrounding the poet. All the characters, connecting in the mind of Hoffmann, excite the spectators' imagination.
 
In this great creation of Offenbach, thanks to the triumph of music, the unusual form and content, the imagination and artistic perception of the viewer will allow you to take a fresh look at the relationship between man and society, man and woman, muse and poet.
