Discover Sochi on a Private Stroll (3 hours)

Excursion will include walking through all major landmarks of city center, including Sochi seaport, The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, the area in front of the Art Museum of the city of Sochi, and the square in front of Winter Theatre.

Meet your guide at the Sochi Railway Station to commence your tour. Sochi city tour will open the door to numerous architectural landmarks - the face of the city, which include modern ensembles, monuments, squares, embankments and boulevards. Among the highlights of the tour are marine station “Morvokzal”, the first church of the Black sea – The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel, park “Riviera” and other notable sights of Sochi.

You will see:

Sochi passenger seaport - the largest passenger port in the Black Sea. A great photo opportunity! The striking Maritime Passenger Terminal of the Naval Station building was built in 1955, on designs by Karo Halabyan. The structure is notable for its distinctive 71-meter-high steeple tower and four statues symbolizing the cardinal points. And this Marine Terminal is the most beautiful part of the embankment. Also, there is a nice park in front of it that gives the feeling of the resort and relaxation.

Sochi Art Museum, which was built in 1936, houses Sochi’s best collection of Russian and Soviet art. The museum has more than 60,000 exhibits as well as changing exhibits and special events. Art lovers will appreciate the Sochi Art Museum which features painting, sculptures and more.

Sochi Railway station - not only an important transport hub but also an architectural monument of federal importance. High arches, majestic columns and a snow-white lookout tower with huge clocks perfectly fit into the Black Sea landscape and attract hundreds of tourists trying to find the differences between Sochi station and its twin in Simferopol, Crimea.

The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel -  actually the oldest and the most beautiful Orthodox temple in the region. It took Russian builders 16 years to construct the snow-white church with a cruciform shape. It is Sochi's main Orthodox church and an architectural landmark. It was built in the 19th century and closed its doors in 1931 to become a warehouse (a fate typical of many Russian churches in the Stalin era). In 1944 the cathedral reopened its doors, and after the fall of the Soviet Union it was reconstructed.

Winter Theater righteously considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Sochi. Its architectural style belongs to Neoclassicism, with its massive columns and ornate cornices. The interior of the building is no less impressive: you’ll enjoy the magnificent golden pillars and the majestic chandelier in the central hall. The architecture of this landmark is not the only reason why people from all over the world travel to Winter Theatre on a daily basis – we are ready to tell you about the rest of them right now.

Tour concludes in the city. The guide will gladly advise you on how to get back to your hotel or a nice place to have lunch.
