Day 0: Getting to Irkutsk

The fastest way is to get to Irkutsk by plane from Moscow. There are 6 direct flights per day, duration is 5h 40m.
Usually travellers to Russia visit Moscow for several days before a trip to Baikal. Moscow is the capital of Russia and transport hub for journeys to the rest of Russia. UVisitRussia recommends our partner Aeroflot Russian Airlines for your flight.

Day 1: Exploring "Paris of Siberia"

Arrival in Irkutsk, the fabulous capital of Eastern Siberia, where you will be met by your private driver for the transfer to your hotel Victoria. After the time to relax, your knowledgeable and experienced guide will invite you for a glorious overview tour. Irkutsk, known as the "Paris of Siberia", is an unique old city, the ancient crossroads of trade routes. During this 3-hour walking city tour of Irkutsk (in case of bad/cold wheather it is possible to change to private car tour) the guide will show you the city's beautiful historical center, you will get acquainted with the history of Irkutsk and will see the city's main streets, amazing churches, traditional wooden buildings and incredible monuments. There are many great museums keeping historical and cultural heritage of the city. You will visit one of the most famous museums.

Day 2: Explore the Listvyanka

Morning transfer by private car to settlement of  Listvyanka Villagesmall but tourist-wise village of Listvyanka is located on the western shore of Lake Baikal, 70 km from Irkutsk.   This day you will visit the Wooden Architecture museum (show a large variety of housing and life of the Siberians) and the Limnological museum -  the best museum of Lake Baikal's flora and fauna has a great collection of unique facts, samples and creatures as well as a new aquarium with seals, fish, sponges and Crustacea. It is a real highlight of the tour. In the evening you will return to Irkutsk by the private car also. Feel the local flavor staying overnight at chalet in Listvyanka Villagebuilt in the traditional Russian wooden architecture style. It is situated in Listvyanka settlement, 750-800 m up valley from the lake, surrounded by gardens and cabins of the local people. A spectacular view to the Lake Baikal's blue mirror opens from windows of the lodge. Lovely hills with silver birch, pines and larch trees start beyond our garden. It's a great place to admire the outstanding nature of the greatest lake, feeling real Russian countryside atmosphere. All rooms with the view to the lake Baikal. Breakfast is included and on your wish traditional  Siberian lunch and dinner (for an extra charge), with Baikal omul fish, are served. Spacious dining room and a balcony welcome you for a cup of tea or a sit outside with a great view to the lake.

Day 3: Free time in Listvyanka

Free time in Listvyanka village. The old church of St. Nicolas, chair lift to the Cherskiy peak view point, Angara river outlet with shaman stone, souvenir market are the other attractions of Listvyanka. In the town, a variety of hot- or cold-smoked and salted omul and grayling fish is on sale. A great snack on the shore is omul, a delicacy of Lake Baikal, which has been just smoked for you.  Afternoon transfer to Irkutsk by shuttle minibus.  (Or in the evening, if needed).

Day 4: Free time in Irkutsk

This day is at your leisure. Following free time, You will be transferred to Irkutsk train station/airport to begin your journey home.

St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is one of the few preserved architectural monuments in Listvyanka. The building dates from the middle of the century before last. Baikal : Shaman Stone
Shaman Stone is a rock near the source of the Angara, a natural monument of the Pribaikalsky National Park and also a sacred place of shamanists. This is one of the symbols of Lake Baikal.
