Finally you arrived to the Siberian city of Irkutsk and probably cannot wait to meet the king of all lakes - the Lake Baikal.

This tour provides enough time for transfers to/from Listvyanka village and sightseeing. You will have 4-5 hours for activities and things you choose to do. Schedule a stop at the Museum of Wooden Architecture, visit Museum of Lake Baikal, Seal Museum. The town is a very relaxing place, great for walk, hike or even trek. Visit souvenir alley on the main pier and local market to taste local foods. If you decide to stay overnight in Listvyanka, consider taking a boat trip on the lake, visit nearby village or go for a picnic across Angara River mouth. There are numerous B&Bs, hotels, some are very nice. To get the most of our tour, we recommend to book a bilingual guide. 

Visit to Listvyanka Village would be our first suggestion. During this visit, you will have a chance to experience Siberian country life, enjoy panoramic views of Lake Baikal and the Baikal Museum where you can learn about the lake's geology, fauna and flora. At the Seals Aquarium, you will have a chance to see the famous Baikal Seal (Nerpa), claimed the only fresh water seals on Earth. When walking or hiking around the village, pay a visit to the local Saint Nicholas Church which has a remarkable story. This is also where you can find local souvenir merchants. On the way to or from Listvyanka we will also stop at the open air Museum of Wooden Architecture assembled of original houses, schools, churches and shops built in the 17-19th century by Russian Cossacks and local ethnic groups.

    St. Nicholas Orthodox Church is one of the few preserved architectural monuments in Listvyanka. The building dates from the middle of the century before last.
