Travel from Slyudyanka to the port of Baikal

A fascinating one-day trip from west to east along the Circum-Baikal Railway, allowing you to see natural monuments, unique engineering structures and a number of wooden buildings of the early XX century in the Art Nouveau style.

7:45 - the beginning of landing in the car at the station Irkutsk-Passenger.
8:00 - departure of the retro-train (on-the-way - travel information).

Exit at the following stops:

Slyudyanka station (167 km of the Baikal-Amur Railway)
Excursion along the main and the biggest station of the Circum-Baikal Railway. All the main facilities of the station were built at the beginning of the last century on special projects. The most famous architectural masterpieces are the station with a white and pink marble, and a water-filled building made in the Art Nouveau style with motives of Gothic style.

Station Angasolka (149th km of the Baikal-Amur Railway)
Excursion with inspection of engineering facilities of the Angasol complex - reinforced concrete bridge of the second stage, a metal bridge of the first stage, a viaduct, a tunnel and retaining walls.

The stopping point "Brook Kirkirei" (123 km of the Baikal-Amur Railway)
Excursion on tunnels No. 18 and No. 18-bis, inspection of the lower arch retaining wall. This tunnel is a complex architectural structure. Above its Irkutsk part the powerful and fast small river Kirkirei flowed. For her challenge was created an unusual for those times construction - aqueduct - drainage system, carried over the tunnel.

The station Half (110 km of KBR)
Excursion along the longest tunnel of the Baikal-Amur Railway. Information about the Circum-Baikal railway, its construction (research, choice of direction). Walking route with access to Baikal. Return on the cape (a small gentle rise and the same calm descent).

The stopping point "Italian Wall" (102 km of the Baikal-Amur Railway)
Excursion around two neighboring complexes. The first includes Cape Shumikhinsky with a tunnel and a bay, a sandy beach and a stone pipe across the river. The second consists of engineering structures: a bridge, a viaduct, a gallery and retaining walls. One of the walls - arched, called "Italian" (built with the participation of masters from Italy) - the only one preserved in its original form.

19:30 - Arrival at the station Port Baikal (73 km of the Baikal-Amur Railway).
Visit to the Museum of the Baikal Railway in the renovated building of the station.
Crossing to the village Listvyanka, boarding the bus.
21: 00-22: 00 - return to Irkutsk.
