Akademgorodok Sightseeing Tour by car (4 hours)
Your tour will start when your tour guide and a driver will pick you up from your centrally located hotel. During your drive, you will get an insight to the history of the city as well as the history of Akademgorodok since its foundation.
The historic town was founded in the 1950s under the ‘Academy of Sciences’ division of the USSR, and Akademgorodok was the residence to over 60,000 scientists during a period of economic uncertainty.
A visit to Akademgorodok gets particularly important due to the reason that this is one of the most important scientific and education centers in Russia. You will see the House of Scientist as well as the University of Novosibirsk along with the monument to the founder of Akademgorodok.
Not only your tour guide will recount the history of the town but you will also have an opportunity to visit one of two museums of your choice, Geology Museum at Geology Research Institute or the Open-Air Train Museum (a collection of the old Trans-Siberian trains). Each of them has a large collection and can impress you with its expositions.
The excursion concludes shortly after you have walked along the embankment of the Ob reservoir – an artificial sea.
Your guide will then lead you back to the center of the city, where you can spend the rest of your day exploring the vibrant city of Novosibirsk.
