Museum of the History of the East Siberian Railway
The museum displays original real exhibits: rails, alarm and communication devices, orders, medals, maps, photographs, albums and documents. The Museum of the History of the East Siberian Railway in Irkutsk is one of the youngest on the railway. It was opened in 1998 to the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first train to Irkutsk and was located in the building of the railway administration. On July 5, 2003 a new exposition of the museum was opened. It is located in a building located on the territory of the Children's Railway in the city center on the island of Yunost. The area of the museum is 120 square meters. m. And it is located in three museum halls. The museum exposition reflects the history of construction and operation of the East Siberian Railway from 1898 to the present. |
