The area called Sultan-Galieva is one of the newest and most comfortable squares in Kazan. It is located in the historical part of the city in Vakhitovsky district. It is bounded by the following streets: Basseynaya, Pushkin, Kasatkina, and from the north passes the bank of the Kazanka River.
Initially, the area was an empty open space. In the early 90's began its improvement and the construction of new buildings on it. In 1992, the square was given its modern name in honor of the leader of the national movement Sultan-Galiyev, who was repressed.
On the western border of the square are residential buildings of the elite complex "Renaissance". Also here is the business center "Sultan-Galievsky". In the northern part there is a cascade fountain, in the walking part of the square there are beds, alleys, green spaces. Between the walking part and the "NSC Kazan" there is an asphalted playground, right in front of the building stands a 40-meter stela, called the stele of Freedom, it is crowned with a figure of a woman taken from Tatar mythology.
Not one of the streets that adjoin the square, does not go public transport. The nearest stop is Freedom Square, is located to the south, it is separated from the square by the building of the State Council and the Cabinet of Tatarstan.
