Kungur

Kungur is an old merchant city. It is significantly different from most of the settlements of the Urals, because it arose as a trading city, and not born of a factory.

Kungur was founded in the middle of the XVII century, its name was received along the Kungurka River.

Thanks to the favorable position on the trade routes in the XVIII - XIX centuries, the city developed rapidly. The former wealth of the city is vividly illustrated by numerous luxurious merchant houses, preserved to this day. Thanks to this Kungur can be called a real open-air museum, you can walk for a long time.

In the XIX century, many Kungur merchants were widely known in the Urals, especially among them A.S. Gubkin, M.I. Gribushin, A.G. Kuznetsov. They were successfully engaged in tea-trading. In the XIX century, Kungur was even called the tea capital of Russia! Now this was remembered by representatives of the tourism industry. Kungur entered the tourist route "The Great Tea Way".

Kungur has the status of the historic city of Russia. And indeed there are a lot of valuable monuments of history and architecture.
