"Living Diamonds of Yakutia" Nature Park
The park presents Siberian resident wildlife. A distinctive feature of these "diamonds" is thick wool, which allows them to survive the Yakut winter frosts. For example, this is an aboriginal Yakut horse, which was bred by the method of folk selection under the influence of natural selection. "Living Diamonds of Yakutia" Nature Park was founded in 2009 with the goal of preserving natural ecosystems on the territory of Mirny on an area of 32,105.22 hectares. This territory is strictly prohibited hunting and any other fishing activities. These places are especially beautiful. Dense blueberry and lingonberry forest. Pure streams, blue lakes, connected among themselves by the little brooks, where there are a lot of crucian, shoals of minnow. At one time there were places where wild deer came out to feed. Not to mention the clean air. From the very beginning, the social project of the Diamond Company, "Living Diamonds of Yakutia" Nature Park, has turned into a favorite resting place for the Mirny people and guests of the capital of the Diamond Province. There is a beautiful lake, which has long been a favorite place of rest for Mirny residents, and nearby is the “Diamond Valley” ski base. On the territory of more than 32 thousand hectares there are Manchurian deer, yaks, bison, Yakut horses, axis deer, moose, bears, peacocks, pigeons, rabbits and dogs. There are three calves of the yaks born in the conditions of captivity. But it all started with only two animals - musk oxen. They were brought here from Taas-Yuryakh. The animals are kept in conditions close to natural. The zoo itself is a long corridor with fenced off night houses. They are very large and spacious. Walking along the corridor you can communicate with animals but not just to look at them from afar. This is one of the few places where you can not only watch, but also touch the inhabitants of enclosures. The pens themselves are made as transparently as possible, with a minimum of materials and inside are not fenced with a continuous mesh, and in the absence of people one can have a complete feeling that you communicate with animals one on one, having met them accidentally in the forest. |
