Kazan Church (the shrine is the tomb of Kamensky)

The Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is the youngest of the pre-revolutionary churches of Perm. It was built in the beginning of the XX century, as a chapel of the Uspensky monastery. The construction was started in 1905 and completed in 1908. The Kazan church is one of the most striking examples of the Neo-Russian style in the Kama region and strangely enough - the only characteristic pattern in Perm.

The architecture of the Kazan church is built on the traditions of ancient Russia: a solid and low single-domed church. Due to its small size, the church looks modest and unpretentious. Virtually no decorative elements, so the temple creates a sense of integrity and unity. The main decorations are a majolica canvas with the icon of the Kazan Mother of God and the Savior Not Made by Hands, located on the facade of the building.

Due to its unique architectural appearance and interesting history, it is a unique landmark of Perm.
