Alapaevsk

Alapaevsk is a city in the Sverdlovsk region of Russia, the administrative center of the urban district of the city of Alapaevsk.

The city was founded in 1639 in connection with the discovery of rich depositsiron ore, at one time the iron of the brand "Black Sable" was produced at the Alapaevsk Iron and Steel Works, which received prestigious awards at international exhibitions.Nowadays the factory is no longer functioning, but with it there is a museum where everyoneinterested person can get acquainted with the history of development of metallurgicalindustry of the city.Also in the city of Alapaevsk, the building of the hammer mill of the metallurgical plant was built, presumably built in 1704, which makes this building the oldest stone structure in the Middle Urals.
