Ural is famous for its natural attractions, attracting active recreation enthusiasts. Among them, the so-called rocks of Peter Gronsky are not the last. They have a bizarre outlines and for many centuries have been fretting the imagination of the indigenous inhabitants of these places, endowed them with supernatural power.It is believed that the rocks were named in honor of the revolutionary worker, who, together with his comrades, hid weapons there, taught the revolutionaries how to shoot, and was preparing to fight for a brighter future. Studies conducted in recent years have not been able to confirm this information. The only thing that we managed to find out is that such a person really lived at the beginning of the 20th century at Iset station, but he did not show himself during the revolutionary events of 1917, since he was still a teenager.The rocks of Peter Gronsky, from the geological point of view, belong to the Upper Iset massif, which covers a considerable territory. Although the peaks of most of the surrounding mountains are crowned with stone "sculptures" of bizarre shapes, the most majestic of all the stone remains is Petrograd. The age of the rocks that make up the rocks, according to geologists, is about 300 million years. During this period they underwent severe destruction, which led to the formation of horizontal and vertical cracks. These faults appeared even during the cooling of magma, and the destructive effect of erosion widened them and deepened. As a result, vertical columns were formed, composed of rounded plates, between which there are many deep niches and intricate through gaps.The rocks of Peter Gronsky stretch from east to west. Their greatest height is 15 m. At first glance, they resemble the ruins of a huge fortress wall with towers, which was destroyed due to an enemy attack.
